The Peconic Puffin

A blog about a group of windsurfers and other water sports enthusiasts, and their friends. Established 1993.

It's called "Occasional Windsurfing on Long Island".  It's the latest in a long line (four, I think) of Long Island windsurfing blogs.  Windsurfing the East End came first, then The Peconic Puffin, then Drysuit2, and now Occasional.

Its creator Antonio promises "a dumpster of occasional thoughts."  Here at the Puffin we first interpreted this as an incursion into our turf ("dumpster") but upon careful re-reading we spotted "occasional" so we're feeling better.

So go check out "Occasional Windsurfing on Long Island"…featuring a fine mastcam shot worthy of anyone seeking windsurfing distraction!

Hi Mike, thanks for the nice introduction! I think your blog will always be the reference. Your passion for blogging and windsurfing is just unmatchable. Speaking of mastcam shots, you should consider having a camera permanently on board. If you had one at the Bowl, today we would have a clear shot of that infamous shark!

With 60+ launches across bays, the sound & ocean, Long Island has plenty of room for more windsurfing blog coverage. Welcome Antonio!
