…may I have one please?   I'm officially half way through the forecasted healing period for my stupid bicep tear, and of course it's windy and wavy and my mind is filled with imagined sessions missed.   I would gratefully take any time on the water right now…good sesh, bad sesh, nonplaning sesh.  A little wind and wet please.

Don’t rush it. As an expert in getting injured/getting back in the water, I know what I’m talking about. A re-injury due to the overwhelming desire to be stoked will set you waaaaaay back. Do your PT until you think you’re twice as strong as you were before the tear, then go out in 10kts with a 4.5, and build from there.
    Good luck!

senor puffin,my take is polar opposite;hit it as hard as da body will allow as soon as possible .it always works 4 me plus sailin helps da mind heal da body and it’s fun bb it’s fun here-20-30 knots 8-12 ft faces-88 degrees it can heal anything

You are not alone. I’ve been doing the wind sacrifice thing myself, and it’s windsurfing that’s taken the big hit, since it involves the most logistics and prep time.
I haven’t sailed since the Joe Rocco memorial.
Out of frustration, I’ve found other fitness-oriented ways to somewhat aggravate and retard the (year-long) healing process of the 2 herniated discs in my neck, though. Including 3 of my other several passions: a couple of road cycling, one painful surfing session at Tobay with Mikedabaker, and a couple of 9-hole rounds of golf with Chuck the Windsurfer
Saw my neurologist, who is a young and fit hard-core cyclist himself, the other month and he said, “windsurfing … I wouldn’t do that. One good [catapult] and you’d be screwed.”
Well that doesn;t sound too good does it. SO I decided to go with the flow, get the house painted, and do some handywork like installing windsurfing board racks in the garage. Long Overdue.
Maybe I’ll get a session in before winter — check that, Fall declared Winter on us already. … maybe before it all freezes the heck over.
    Bring on the spring.
    Heal well Puffin.
