The Peconic Puffin

A blog about a group of windsurfers and other water sports enthusiasts, and their friends. Established 1993.

I don't care that it's the World Cup.  DVR it.   You'd rather watch sports than play sports?  We can be acquaintances.  When you speak of windsurfing, be sure to note that for you it's a hobby.   We addicts need to know who our fellow shredheads are.

I am making a list.  You know who you are.  It's not too late to choose to participate rather than spectate.

(Forecast for Sunday:  Sweet southerlies!)

    He he… 🙂
This time it’s cool in Europe – you windsurf and then you come to a bar absolutely exhausted… and watch that soccer game. Time difference allows to do it.
playing soccer myself I’d still skip it to windsurf. Not even a question.

I cannot fathom why anyone would want to watch anything on the TV in preference to going sailing when it’s blowing.

I’d be conflicted about the finals tomorrow, but luckily (?) the levante here in Tarifa is taking a break these days..

He can be called a friend;he can not be called a windsurfer!

I respectfully disagree. I am a windsurfer, and I’m also Argentinean, so tomorrow I will be watching the game… I would go windsurfing any day rather than playing soccer, this is a major sporting event!

Why would a windsurfer miss a great session to watch television, unless they were sick? Record it and watch later.

Wait? They show sports on TV?

Real winsurfers don’t have any friends anyway. If the wind comes up, windsurfers skip out on: summer BBQ’s, weddings (unless beach weddings), funerals, Bar/Bat Mitvahs, baptisms, house warmings, moving days, doctor’s appointments, work meetings, court hearings, . . .
. . . and then make up a lame excuse while water is still dripping from their hair.
