Learning how to wingfoil expands (and enhances) your ability to enjoy water/wind conditions that can otherwise be frustrating for windsurfing. Unfortunately, as one excels in the sport, you find yourself windsurfing less, and wingfoiling more. For many of us once hard core windsurfers here on Maui, we only windsurf when the waves are big, or supsail when there are waves and the winds are light. In the summer, when the tradewinds are consistently strong and steady, with only windswell for waves, former windsurfers who would shun those conditions and stay home are out there riding the windswell with their wingfoil’s on the 9 mile “Maliko Run”. On second though, there’s nothing unfortunate about that at all!
