Never forget.
A few minutes ago I heard bagpipes out of my window. I live next door to a New York City Fire Department company that took heavy losses that day, and every September 11th they have a ceremony. I just walked down there…family and relatives have filled the firehouse, which is lined with plaques dedicated to the twelve guys who lost their lives when the towers fell.
(My living in NYC is a point of confusion for some of the blog readers…my wife and I live in downtown Manhattan, but spend every free moment out at our weekend house in Peconica. Except for days like today my head is always out in the Peconic. Today I’m focused on the city, though.)
That’s certainly a historic picture.
