I saw this in an iWindsurf forum, posted by the mighty Jerry Evans (maker of both the Clew View and East Coast Windsurfing Festival trophies) who tells me he found it on Facebook. In any event I think there’s a large dollop of truth in the descriptions above.
Gotta say I love your new web format its nokoilg slick.Since this post is on the subject of learning as someone progressing in the waves I’d love to see more extended cut videos that really show how the pros handle the waves. What I mean is that while the most radical moves and wipeouts are awesome, I also want to see how the best sailors do some of the more mundane stuff like tacking in the impact zone, timing the sets, managing the shore break, and dealing with their gear after falling in the impact zone. I’m not really talking about instructional videos. Rather videos that give a more nuanced expansive feel of how the best do what they do.Maybe thats too boring, but it would be great for my learning curve. And I’ll second Matt’s abilities as a teacher. The private I took with him a while back was excellent.
