Drowning does not look like drowning.  I didn't know that.   We who play in the water need to know what it does look like, so we can take effective action.   Read this article on drowning and check out its accompanying video (or watch it below.)   And check out my2fish's story about how easily one can find themselves in trouble.

    I almost drowned a couple years ago. I had no energy to wave my arms. I had no extra breath to yell at my friends watching from up on the rocks. I just barely could breath between big waves, and just barely keep my head out of the water. I couldn’t even really swim – just sort of tread water, inching closer to the rocks. Scary stuff – thanks for posting the reminders.
