The Peconic Puffin

A blog about a group of windsurfers and other water sports enthusiasts, and their friends. Established 1993.

The Save The Waves Film Festival is making it's way along the East Coast, and will be stopping in Easthampton on Friday September 2nd at Guild Hall.   Save the waves film festivalNoted Puffin/Wind Chimp/maker of films Christian has a hand in it, and he says "it'll be a spectacular evening of beer, surf movies and attention to this fragile playground we get to take advantage of so much."

How do you say no to that?

Other stops on the tour include Virginia Beach and Long Beach Island, but if you want to say Hi to Christian you'll really need to get out to East Hampton.  For more information, check out the Save The Waves Film Festival web site.

    Thanks Michael.
To date Save The Waves has helped protect some of the most iconic surf sites in the world as well as places not so well known. In short, they get stuff done.
The reason I got involved with this group is they use surfing as a way to bring ocean conservation issues to the fore. Simplifying a complex and hard to penetrate subject.
As you mention, the evening will be full of awesome surf/ocean movies and like minded water ‘people’.
Hope folks can make it out in support!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the Festival. A great success, much surfing and environmental thoughtfulness. Looks like they’ll be coming back next year. Hoping it will be bigger and better.
